MCP Yachts moves its latest hull to a new shed
01 January 2025
MCP Yachts recently relocated the newest hull of the Global EXP 68 series to a new shed, marking a significant milestone in the construction of the fourth model in this line. In broad daylight, MCP’s sailing vessel department unveiled yet another gem of its engineering. This is the fourth EXPLORER 68 to enter the finishing phase, heading to the final painting section where it will be equipped and prepared for future voyages.
Hull number 097 is part of MCP Yachts' prestigious fleet. This particular model is destined for export, further strengthening the brand’s international presence.
Designed to explore the oceans freely, the Global EXP 68 is synonymous with comfort, performance, safety, and sustainability – qualities only an MCP Yacht can deliver.
Engineers Damien Chaves and Manoel Chaves, representing two generations of ocean enthusiasts, lead the project driven by the desire to create a sustainable vessel capable of delivering safe and comfortable experiences in any ocean.
The Global EXP 68 embodies this philosophy, blending the sophistication and safety of an MCP Yacht with the adventurous spirit of sailors. Its hull, made from marine-grade aluminum (5083 H116 alloy certified by Lloyd’s Register in London), offers an incredibly light and durable structure. This material is non-flammable, does not absorb water, and provides up to ten times the rigidity compared to fiberglass hulls of equivalent weight.
The vessel also stands out for its high-tech woodworking, utilizing low-density composites that enhance lightness and improve sailing performance. The Global EXP 68 leads the cruising yacht category, both in Brazil and internationally, excelling in performance, oil and water storage capacity, cabin volume, and the weight-to-rigidity ratio of its aluminum hull.
Equipped with the finest accessories and components available on the global market, the Global EXP 68 represents the cutting edge of nautical engineering, standing as a proud example of Brazilian design and the meticulous work of MCP Yachts' technical team.
